What should I do if my examination or assessment dates clash with religious festivals I wish to observe?

Answer

The University recognises that its academic year has historically been structured around the Christian calendar, like other UK institutions. This means that the major Christian religious festivals occur during vacations and therefore are not affected by the examination schedule. While we strive to accommodate major religious festivals from all our faiths in our planning, this is not always possible. The University will try to avoid scheduling examinations on important religious days that occur during examinations for those students whose commitment to the observance of their faith would otherwise cause them to miss examinations. If you are affected you will need to complete a religious observance form and return to your school office.

The form can be found here.
