My mental health is impacting on my studies, what support can I access?

Answer

The Counselling and Wellbeing service offers support to all students in need, including those who already have a mental health diagnosis and those who don't. If you would like to speak to a wellbeing adviser about your mental health and discuss support options, please could you visit www.salford.ac.uk/wellbeing-form where you will find the online wellbeing referral form to fill out.  After you have filled out the wellbeing referral form you will be sent a link to book an appointment with a Wellbeing Adviser.

If you find your mental health is impacting on your studies the Disability & Learner Support team can put a reasonable adjustments plan in place for your studies (which may include things like extra time or a study coach).  Have a look at their website . In order to make an appointment with them, you will need to fill in a medical evidence form (with input from your GP) and fill in their registration form.  Once you have sent them back to disability@salford.ac.uk, they will make you an appointment to complete the Reasonable adjustment plan with you.

You will need to obtain medical evidence in advance of your appointment but we would always recommend calling our service for more advice on 0161 295 0023 (option 1 followed by option 2) or by email disability@salford.ac.uk.
