The 'e-resource login tool' is a widget or bookmarklet that you can add to your browser to make access to e-resources from off campus easier.
You don't need to use this tool if you always use Library Search or the Library's Resources page to access e-resources from off-campus, but if you go directly to supplier websites, then the 'e-resource login tool' can help.
You first need to add the tool to your browser. You only need to do this once.
To do this, simply drag and drop the button below into your bookmarks bar :
The link will now be permanently in your bookmarks bar.
Now, when you're on a webpage and want to login, just click on this link to gain access. So in the example below, if you reach this site from off campus and you are not logged in, just click on the 'e-resource login tool' in the bookmarks bar - you will be prompted to enter your network username and password, and then be given access to the resource.
For more information, including how to use this on tablets, see the this post.
Remember that the 'e-resource login tool' will only give you access to content to which the University subscribes, so you won't be able to access everything in this way.
