The best way to find e-books to which you have full access as a Salford student is through the library catalogue, Library Search. Before beginning your search, it’s best to sign into Library Search so that you are recognised as a member of the university in any of our subscribed electronic resources, such as databases and e-book providers.
To find e-books in Library Search, select 'Advanced Search' and then select 'e-books' from the drop down list under 'Material Type' choose 'Books (Electronic)'
Alternatively, you can start by typing your search into the 'Simple Search' box, selecting 'Books & more' and then use the facets on the right to filter the search to show e-books only:
To then view a particular e-book, click on the ‘View It’ tab and click through to the e-book provider’s host site, which will let you either view or download the book:
You may be asked to sign in using your network username and password before you can access the book. E-books are provided on a number of different platforms and each of them has slightly different functionality.
