If a book hasn’t renewed it will be for one of four reasons:
1.The book has been requested by another user.
The book will not renew and needs to be returned by its due date. Unreturned requested books will be charged at a rate of 50p per day, up to a maximum of £20.
2.The maximum number of renewals has been reached (books will be loaned for up to 52 weeks).
The book will not renew beyond 52 weeks and will need to be returned. If the book is not requested then you can return it and reissue it in the Library. You will need to bring the book to any Library enquiry desk in person. No charges will be made for overdue items that have not been requested.
3.Your library account has expired before the expected due date of the book after renewal.
The book will not renew beyond your account expiry date and will need to be returned. No charges will be made for overdue items that have not been requested.
4.The book is lost and has been invoiced.
The book will not renew and needs to be returned immediately. You will have already been notified of the charges relating to the replacement cost of the item. Failure to return the item may incur further charges for debt collection. Please see here for further information about books showing as Lost on your library account
