Please let us know as soon as possible if you lose a book. We will charge a minimum replacement fee of £15 per item lost, but don’t worry, if the item is found you will get your money back.
Once you’ve let us know that an item is lost, or once it has been overdue for 5 weeks, an invoice will be raised on your account. If you have any books showing as ‘LOST’, your library account will be blocked and you won’t be able to borrow any more books.
To pay for a lost item once an invoice has been raised, you will need to contact the Finance department, who are located in University House, or telephone them on 0161 295 4671.
Please note, the longer an invoiced book remains as ‘LOST’ on your account, further charges may be incurred, as a debt collection agency may become involved.
Once you have paid for an invoiced book, your account will be cleared and you will be able to borrow books again.
