As a student at Salford you have access to a wide range of high quality, academic information through Library Search.  This includes access to a number of useful databases.  A database is a large collection of information which can be searched and includes resources ranging from journal articles to eBooks.

All of our databases can be accessed from both on and off campus and most require your network username and password.

Academic Search Premier

Academic Search Premier is a scholarly, full text database and includes full text for 1,800 publications as well as images, for nearly every academic field of study.

Ackland's Video Atlas of Human Anatomy

Acland's Video Atlas of Human Anatomy is a series of recorded anatomy lessons presented by Robert D. Acland. The series uses unembalmed human specimens to illustrate anatomical structures.

Box of Broadcasts

This is a TV scheduling service and it allows you to record TV and radio programmes that are scheduled to be broadcast over the next seven days as well as retrieving programmes from the last seven days from a selected list of recorded channels.

Digimap: Environment, Historical and Ordnance Survey

Digimap Environment provides access to Land Cover Map data from the Centre for Ecology and Hydrology. This is a parcel-based classification of UK land cover derived from satellite images and digital cartography and gives land cover information for the entire UK. Land cover is based on UK Biodiversity Action Plan Broad Habitats.

Digimap Historic provides access to the valuable historic Ordnance Survey map collection online. The maps are digital scans of Ordnance Survey paper map sheets.

Digimap Ordnance Survey contains a variety of Ordnance Survey licensed data/maps.

Nexis Business and News is a comprehensive collection of newspapers, news services and company data.
