As a student at Salford you have access to a wide range of high quality, academic information through Library Search.  This includes access to a number of useful databases.  A database is a large collection of information which can be searched and includes resources ranging from journal articles to eBooks.

All of our databases can be accessed from both on and off campus and most require your network username and password.

Key databases you have access to include:

Academic Search Premier

Academic Search Premier is a scholarly, full text database and includes full text for 1,800 publications as well as images, for nearly every academic field of study. 

This database is good for the following Built Environment subjects:

Architecture, Architectural Design & Technology, Building and Information Modeling, Building Surveying, Construction, Construction Law, Construction Project Management, Quantity Surveying, Real Estate & Property Management.

Architects' Journal including AJ Buildings Library

The Architects' Journal is the UK’s best-selling weekly architecture magazine.

The AJ Buildings Library is a searchable digital buildings archive with drawings from more than 1,500 projects.

ASCE Library

The ASCE Journals Collection provides researchers and practitioners with the latest civil engineering research and its application.  The ASCE Journals Collection includes over 55,000 journal articles from 1983 to the present, with more than 4,000 technical and professional articles added annually.
Also available is the ASCE Online Proceedings collection which includes conference papers from 2000 to the present. More than 370 conference proceedings volumes are also included in the collection.

BCIS Online and BCIS Online Rates

This BCIS Online account is for the main part of BCIS, plus the Building Running Costs data.

BCIS Online Rates gives online access to resource rates - labour, plant and materials. Accurate data for budgeting a new build or refurbishment.

Box of Broadcasts

This is a TV scheduling service and it allows you to record TV and radio programmes that are scheduled to be broadcast over the next seven days as well as retrieving programmes from the last seven days from a selected list of recorded channels.
