Is there a cooling off period?

Answer

You have a cooling off period which is up to 14 days from the start date of your programme (not from the date you register) to change your mind and withdraw from your course. You can find full details on this within our Key Facts about Fees document that explains your tuition charges.

If you wish to withdraw, you must follow the instructions here. This is so that the University can put in place the relevant steps for your student finance. If you don’t follow the withdrawal procedure, this will cause problems later.

Please note that any overpayment of maintenance loans may be requested immediately by Student Finance once they have received notification of your withdrawal. This can also result in Student Finance considering you as ‘using’ one years’ worth of tuition fee entitlement despite us not claiming any tuition fees. This decision is out of the University’s control and you may wish to contact Student Finance to gain understanding how this may impact any future applications you make with them (e.g. how many years of tuition funding you have left). You can contact them by calling them on 0300 100 0607 or via Twitter or Facebook if you have an account.
